Volunteer with the Coalition

There are many ways people can help the bicycle coalition in achieving its goal of making SLO County a better place for cycling, and the greatest way is in volunteering. Whether your talents lay in mathmatics, graphic skills, pencil pushing of just good old elbow sweat, we could always use some help.

One of our new ideas for the year is that all volunteers become members, we realize it's a new concept, but our members are our lifeblood and are the reason for our existence. Our spirit, our programs, our goals and everything in between are 100% for and about our members. The more members we have, the stronger our voice is within our community to make positive change for bicycles and pedestrians. In order to accommodate this new idea, we have developed the 2010 membership: give 20 dollars and 10 hours over the course of the year to become a full fledged member.

Spread the word about the Coaliton whenever you make contact with environmental organizations. Download our membership brouchure, distribute our business cards, share our web site address - anything that gets the good word out about what the Coalition is and what we do helps us achieve our mission. Thank you for helping us try to achieve that goal.

Volunteer at any of our Bike Valet events.

Feel good about helping lower the carbon footprint of others by assisting them in parking their bike. In the process - check out some of the cool rides that some of the people roll in on. Volunteers can sign up for shifts online as well! Click the image to the right for more information.

Volunteer at our Bike Kitchen.

Help reach out to the community through the art of bicycle maintenance. The Kitchen is the place for the public to go in order to have access to bicycle tools, parts and expertise for a small donation. Volunteer by helping teach others, and share your enthusiasm about bicycles! Click the image to the right for more information.

Volunteer with Office Work.

Members can help pitch in with how the Coalition runs by joining us in one of our "office parties", it is a great chance for members to meet one another, and complete simple tasks as a team! Activities include: stuffing envelopes, cleaning up, sending out membership materials, and anything else that might come up.

Volunteer with Coalition Outreach.

Help us spread the word about the Coalition by joining our efforts in reaching out to our local communities. By being an outreach volunteer, you will be one of our ambassadors, and promote the Coalition at our events, your events or wherever might be appropriate.
